Volunteers are needed to assist with donor check-in and registration, helping ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for all blood donors. Your support plays a vital role in making this life-saving event a success! Responsibilities Include: Greeting and checking in donors, assisting with registration forms, providing general information and directions, creating a friendly and organized environment. No medical experience is required—just a friendly attitude and a willingness to help! Training and guidance will be provided on-site.

Camp Helpers assist staff in afterschool and all-day camps, helping create a safe, fun, and engaging environment. Volunteers gain leadership experience and support activities, homework, arts, and recreation. Shifts • Afterschool: Mon–Fri, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM • All-Day Camp: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM | Morning: 7:30 AM – 12:30 PM | Afternoon: 12:30 PM – 6:00 PM • Flexible Shifts: 2–4 hour blocks; role based on volunteer availability Note: Volunteers rotate roles as needed and receive orientation and staff supervision.

Trained CPR-certified volunteers are needed to teach and assist others in life-saving techniques. As a volunteer, you’ll support CPR and first aid training sessions by guiding students through hands-on skills practice, ensuring they perform each technique safely and correctly. This role helps build a stronger, more prepared community by empowering others with the confidence to respond in emergencies. Requirements: valid CPR certification; comfortable working with people in a teaching/support role; strong communication and observation skills.

The YMCA’s Safety Around Water program equips children with essential water safety skills to help prevent drowning and build confidence in and around water. This free, community-centered program encourages kids to explore their natural curiosity while learning how to stay safe—opening the door to a lifetime of fun, healthy, and safe experiences in aquatic environments. Offered at no cost to participants, Safety Around Water is provided in partnership with Vance County area schools, focusing on teaching 2nd grade students vital safety skills that can save lives.
